Background: "In 1993 and 94, there were an somekind of official Neo Geo Club in Germany. For 100 German Mark a year (about 72 USD - quite a lot!) you could get a membershipcard (I personally know most NG collectors in Germany and nobody has one of those cards ^_^). If you are a member in this club, you could order some Neo Geo stuff like stickers, flags, bags, shirts, basecaps and even soundtrack cds for special prices (as seen above). The club mag was quite interesting, cause you haven't much sources of information back in the mid 90ies. So 28 full colored pages about the Neo Geo were great. ^_^ They wanted to publish one issue every three month, but there are only three issues before the club and the mag disappeared (3/94, the last one, allready came after this time scedule). It was published by "M & B Hard and Software", I guess the former distributor of SNK stuff in Germany.

The content of the japanese club papers are totally different. I guess, the editors of the German magazine produced all content on their own. Maybe they had the NGF mags as a source? I don't know. But they got some decent info for that time."

Background: An SNK-official NEO·GEO newsletter for English-speaking Europeans, printed in England. Only ran for the 5 volumes seen above, and apart from having general news, distributor info, reviews, release & delay info, etc. also had exclusive merchandise and is probably most famous these days for releasing the schematics of the fabled Neo Star prototype system.

Instead of having me speculate though since I wasn't living there at the time, you can download every issue here in PDF format and judge for yourself the quality of the work (and not the need for spell/grammar check). Typical SNK!

Neo News Issue No. 4 -December/January 1994-95
Background: SNK Corp. of America's official NEO·GEO newsletter. Famed I believe for the appearances of "The Game Lord" Chad Okada and ... well, whatever he contributed (living where I do I never saw an issue), which I presume is more than the Financial Times this issue is posing as. Not sure when it began or how long it ran, nor do I really know all that much about it in general, except that it was official and ran for a while, so any help is as always much appreciated.
